Regardless if it is a Birthday, Mother’s Day, Chanukah or Christmas, it is often hard to come up with meaningful gifts for our friends and family.  For many years, I was giving monetary gift cards to my hard to please pips.  The problem with that is that it is something they spend and forget about.  On the other hand, giving a present can also be problematic as many people already have similar things or have a different taste; that is hard to cater to.

As the holidays approach, we all get busy and sometimes forget to take time for ourselves. Obviously it’s important to schedule some ‘me’ time for relaxing, but it’s also important to maintain the healthy lifestyle you’ve been working towards all year. Think about it, if you give up on your health and wellness just two months out of the year that’s more than 16% of your life spent living unhealthy. In short, don’t give up and tell yourself that you’ll hit the ‘reset button” in January.

Do you ever wonder why some people rarely seem to “catch” a cold or flu during this season or any other season, for that matter?  I know I do!  Normally I do not succumb to the relatively mild mannered rhino virus or the nastier flu strains, however, approximately once every three to five years I will get a doozie of cold.  I also know that when this happens it is because I have not taken care of myself from a nutritional perspective; in my case, that normally means too much sugar.  I have a number of friends and associates that fit into the “rarely” category, so I think it would be benefi

Know the facts about how to protect your skin and you'll be less likely to face wrinkles, brown spots, and skin cancer.

Good sun protection isn't just about avoiding direct sunlight or hot summer sun.  Just because you're indoors doesn't mean the sun can't fin you - window glass blocks the UVB light that causes sunburns, but cell-damaging UVA rays still penetrate.  UVA Rays make up 95% of our UV exposure.  These rays penetrate glass, clothing, clouds and the DERMIS... contributing to Photo-aging.

The Holidays are upon us, and with everything else going on it’s easy to give up on those little “maintenance” issues to save time.  Yes, I’m talking about your feet.  It may seem silly to spend time taking care of them when the cold weather seems to send you reaching for your UGGS daily, but there are some very good reasons not to let the winter go by without a pedicure!  In your daily routine your feet can take pressure up to four times your body weight, so keep that in mind as you’re doing laps around the mall trying to find that perfect gift.  Callouses that build up on your feet can l

Ask us, we know this one by “heart”—no pun intended.  First, let’s define both words: Fitness is the physical ability of your body to perform an athletic activity.  Health is the state in which all the systems of the body—nervous, muscular, skeletal, circulatory, digestive, lymphatic, hormonal, etc. are working optimally and are working together.  Everyone’s goal should be to become not just fit, but healthy.
